In the latest campus outreach in the US, more than 5,500 students have joined together to worship and praise Jesus at a stadium near the University of Cincinnati (UC), Xavier University and Cincinnati State College.
Elevation Rhythm started the night off leading worship.
That was followed by Bible teacher, author, and podcaster Jennie Allen pleading with the students to follow Jesus.
She told the students they didn’t have to carry the weight of their sin and encouraged them not to be fearful of confessing their sins to God and to one another.
PASTOR SHARES ABOUT HIS OWN SINS AND ADDICTIONS
Jonathan ‘JP’ Pokluda, who is the lead pastor of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, and a regular on the college circuit crusade, then gave a clear gospel message.
He asked everyone in the stadium to rate themselves on a scale of 1-10 on whether or not they believed that when they died they would go to heaven.
Most responded they were somewhere in the 7-9 range, but a lot of hands went up for those sharing they weren’t sure.
Like Jennie Allen, Pastor Pokluda was vulnerable during his message, sharing about his own past sins and addictions.
THOUSANDS RESPOND TO THE GOSPEL MESSAGE
He told the parable of the rich young ruler and how there is nothing anyone can do, apart from Jesus, to save us from our sin.
The outreach was organised by college campus evangelistic movement UniteUS.
It said that thousands responded after Pastor Pokluda led a prayer of salvation, either rededicating their lives to Jesus or making a first-time decision to follow Him.
The event ended with Elevation Rhythm leading more worship and the crowd making their way outside in the cool 10-degree weather to see many of the new Christians get baptised in the back of pick-up trucks.
“THIS WAS A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN”
Shouts of joy erupted as every one of them came out of the water.
UniteUS said the number of baptisms was in the hundreds.
Two-thousand students were connected to local churches and ministries.
UniteUS founder and chief organiser Tonya Prewett said the event was a “glimpse of what heaven will be like.”
“Praise the Lord for the gift of freedom found in JESUS,” she wrote.
CROWD DANCES WITH JOY AS THEY CELEBRATE JESUS
Video posted to UniteUS social media pages showed the crowd dancing with joy as they celebrated Jesus.
“Thousands of students dancing on the graves they once lived in,” read the caption on the video.
Some commented that the “Holy Spirit is at work” and that it was “such an amazing night.”
UC student Anna Brown wrote: “God is here and working in this generation, thank you Lord for this experience tonight.”
“God, you are such an amazing God! Thank you Jesus, for saving me.”
CAMPUS OUTREACHES MAINTAINING MOMENTUM
Students from colleges and universities across the country have been participating in these revival-type events since 2023.
So far, UniteUS has reached more than 37,000 students in just the past two months.
The first outreach of the northern autumn saw 9,000 at the University of Oklahoma, 8,000 at the University of Tennessee and 7,000 at both the University of South Florida and the Christian Grand Canyon University in Arizona.
Each event includes music, a Gospel proclamation, and baptisms – often in the hundreds.
“It is revival, and it’s not stopping,” Tonya Prewett shared with the crowd at the Christian Grand Canyon University (GCU) last month.
“A MODERN-DAY MIRACLE”
“From the start of it, it felt nice to be able to have a school that supports God and Jesus so much, and that was willing to help people like me get baptised, since I was never baptised, not even as a baby,” said Shelcee Nakaya, a GCU freshman
“It was amazing to see so many people that are connected by one thing, which is God,” she added.
Jennie Allen told CBN News Digital that what she and other UniteUS leaders are encountering is a modern-day “miracle.”
“So many kids come forward, confess sin, follow Jesus, and we’re baptising usually into the morning,” she said.
“IT’S UNLIKE ANYTHING I’VE EVER SEEN”
“It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.”
“It’s unlike anything I’ve even been bold enough to pray for … until recently.”
“You can just see all over the stadium, huddles of kids, wiping tears, nodding, praying, holding each other,” she added.
“It’s so precious and brave.”
“GOD IS TURNING HEARTS TOWARDS HIM”
Pastor Pokluda observed: “It just seems like God is turning hearts toward him. And he’ll use anybody. I’m living proof he’ll use anybody.”
“I’m a chump from a small town in Texas with a two-year degree in art.”
“And I’m just telling them about Jesus — the same Jesus who changed my life.”
“And it seems like people are responding to that.”
“DOORS TO HEARTS HAVE SWUNG WIDE OPEN”
“It’s happening in prisons, it’s happening in universities. “
“if any believer is paying attention to this, I hope that they are mindful to share the Gospel, because the doors to hearts have just swung wide open.”
The next UniteUS college campus outreaches will be in North and South Carolina.
